Happy (belated) Canada Day to all!

As always, I am grateful for the freedoms and diversity that we are privileged to experience in this country.  That is indeed something to celebrate. And what better way than to follow the tradition (and traffic) of travelling up north for a long weekend in cottage country?

On Saturday night, Vince and I, along with drummer Gerard Sternik, played an evening of Celtic music at Molinari's Italian Restaurant in Tobermory, Ontario.

Molinari's has a prime location in Little Tub Harbour, right by the water.
It was a beautiful, sunny evening and so we played outside on the patio, accompanied by the sound of waves, seagulls, and the occasional (and quite startling!) horn of the Chi-Cheemaun ferry as it approached the harbour.

A big thank you to Maria and Bob at Molinari's for their gracious hospitality - the food was DELICIOUS, and three hungry band members went home very well fed!  (thanks to Angus for recommending the chicken parm - yum!)

Ice cream cones, a breath-taking dip at Mermaid's Cove, and a big bonfire rounded out a perfect summer weekend.

Vince and Gerard will be playing jazz at Molinari's on August 4th, along with Juno award winner (and member of the Shuffledemons) Rich Underhill.  I look forward to being an audience member!
