It takes me just over an hour to get to and from work by public transit. I'm finding it challenging lately, day after monotonous day, dealing with crowded buses, subway delays, rude passengers, loud cellphone conversations and depressing shades of grey. However, there are occasional moments that jolt me out of my commuter's lethargy and remind me to take joy in the little things. Twice now, while descending into the pits to catch the first train of the day, I have seen a little boy, about 4 years old, holding his Mom's hand and belting out the Imperial March from Star Wars. Really belting it out, no holds barred. It reverberates off the concrete walls and makes me belly laugh. I'm sure his Mom isn't quite so thrilled, but it's most definitely a good start to my day.
May you discover your own version of the Imperial March today.
